Fitz Roy, Patagonia

“When a hundred people may summit Mount Everest in a single day, Cerro Chaltén may only be successfully ascended once a year.”

Oh, Wikipedia… You spoil all of us.

Our hiking crew at the beginning of the trail.

Forever wrapped in dark clouds, we were lucky to catch this momentary burst of blue skies and sunlight over Fitz Roy.

Lago de los Tres trail.

Cerro Chalten.

Glacier water is so refreshing!

We had approval from a park ranger to drink from the streams in the park.

Contrasting views.

Modeling for Patagonia (the other one).

During our 5-hour hike we experienced several rounds of snow and rain, felt the wrath of Patagonian wind, got hot from climbing, then cold in the valley, then hot again when the sun came up. And I am NOT complaining.

A magic War Drobe in the land of Spare Oom? (Nah, just a porta-potty)

The Río de las Vueltas that winds through the valley to the town of El Chalten.

We made it back to El Chaltan before dark, just in time to catch this sunset.
