Greetings from the über quaint town of Lenox, located in the heart of the beautiful Berkshire mountains in Western Massachusetts. This was the setting for Chloe and Jen’s wedding extravaganza over Labor Day weekend at the breathtaking Seven Hills Inn. I say extravaganza because it truly was. Things got started right with a massive lobster bake for some 100+ guests on Friday. I was able to partake as a guest after my 3 and a half hour drive from NYC with Kelly, who’d be running yet another successful photobooth, and Monika, who shadowed me as a loyal assistant and wedding photography enthusiast. They both did a tremendous job and I couldn’t be happier with how the coverage turned out. The Cooney and Cates families took over the entire manor for the long weekend and celebrated with awesome food, games, and, of course, plenty of dancing.

Nothing entices me to follow up on a wedding query more than the opportunity to travel. Recently, I’ve received queries to photograph weddings in Hawaii, the Caribbean and even the far away land of Staten Island.
So, I was excited when a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot Amy and Patrick’s wedding in Mystic, Connecticut. Amy and I connected right away when we talked about my trip to South Africa a couple of years ago and how she was planning her honeymoon there. Last year, I had photographed her sister, Heather’s wedding at the Montauk Club in Brooklyn. I immediately noticed familiar faces including, of course, Amy and Heather’s wonderful parents and family. “You must be the official Plourde girls’ wedding photographer,” one of the guests commented.
Amy and Patrick recently bought a beautiful (and huge!) house in Mystic and have left New York City for a more aquatic setting. On wedding day, I met them at the big house as the girls were getting ready and then followed them onto an awesome boat one of the family members had offered. It was a lovely afternoon with twin swans floating by and the famous Mystic drawbridge parting to allow us entrance into the Mystic Seaport where the wedding was to be held. We rolled up in true style with hundreds of guests cheering and waving.
Summer is flying by. Which means it’s the height of wedding season for me. I’ve been so busy shooting weddings that I haven’t had a chance to upload too many photos recently. But I wanted to throw up a couple from a lovely wedding I recently photographed in Mystic, Connecticut. The happy couple, Amy and Patrick, are currently honeymooning in one of my favorite places in the world — South Africa. So jealous!
